Metal Fabrication for the North East
Plan a bespoke fabrication around its purpose, size and handling requirements with T-Rax. We manufacture in Desford, Leicestershire, and serve North East customers, including Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham and Middlesbrough. Our work combines CAD design, laser cutting, folding, welding and powder coating, with one-off and batch production available and delivery requirements discussed as part of the project.
Manufactured in Desford. Delivered across the UK.
One point of contact for your design, fabrication, assembly and packing requirements.
Start with the fabrication and how it will be handled
A large frame or bespoke welded assembly needs a clear brief beyond its overall dimensions. Its material, connections, finish and method of handling all affect the manufacturing work. T-Rax helps North East buyers bring these requirements together, whether the job starts with finished drawings or a concept that needs development.
Our manufacturing base is in Desford, Leicestershire, serving customers across the North East. Delivery is discussed for your specified destination, including any access or unloading requirements that affect the finished fabrication.
Fabrication capability for different scales of work
Our facilities support fabrications up to five tonnes, alongside smaller parts and assemblies. This is a manufacturing capability, rather than an automatic acceptance of every design at that weight. Send the dimensions, construction details and handling requirements so we can assess the particular job.
We offer sheet laser cutting, folding, MIG, TIG and robotic welding, and powder coating. Materials include steel, stainless steel and aluminium. SolidWorks and 3D CAD support design work, and we can undertake prototypes and production batches. See our services and manufacturing capabilities for the equipment and capacity behind those processes.
What to include when requesting a quotation
Provide drawings or sketches, quantities, material grades where specified, and the required finish. Explain the fabrication’s intended use and any critical interfaces with other equipment. If a feature has a specified tolerance or inspection requirement, identify it in the enquiry so it can be reviewed before an order is agreed.
For larger items, include the estimated finished weight, overall envelope and any restrictions on the size of an assembled delivery. Explain the access route and available unloading equipment. These details help establish whether the proposed manufacture and transport arrangements suit your site.
Protection, packing and delivery
We can assemble and pack the products we manufacture. Our packing and fulfilment service can be discussed alongside the fabrication, including which surfaces or components need particular protection. Our own vehicles and local courier relationships support delivery across the UK, with the arrangements agreed for each consignment.
If a dedicated frame is needed for storage or transport, consider our stillage design and manufacture service. Describe the load, how it will be lifted and whether the frame will be reused. This gives the design discussion a practical starting point.
Buyer questions
Can you quote for a single bespoke fabrication?
Yes. We handle one-off work as well as batches. Send the project details so we can review the scope.
Does a five-tonne capability mean every item can be delivered fully assembled?
No. Dimensions, vehicle access and unloading requirements also matter. The manufacturing and delivery arrangements need to be assessed for the specific item.
