One point of contact for your design, fabrication, assembly and packing requirements.

Define the product before setting the batch

A first sample and a repeat production order answer different questions. A prototype helps you review a design; a batch needs an agreed specification and a clear quantity. T-Rax offers both, helping Yorkshire and Humber buyers discuss the route from an initial idea to manufactured parts and assemblies.

We manufacture in Desford, Leicestershire, serving Yorkshire and Humber customers from that base. Wherever your team is based, the starting point is the same: what the product must do, what information is available and what you need to receive.

Design support and manufacturing processes

We use SolidWorks and 3D CAD and can discuss design development, prototyping and batch manufacture. Our services include sheet laser cutting, folding, MIG, TIG and robotic welding, and powder coating. We work in steel, stainless steel and aluminium and can assemble and pack the products we make.

Orders can range from one-off items to thousands of components. Our manufacturing capabilities and capacity page provides further detail on our facilities and equipment. The appropriate production approach depends on the design, material and quantity, so include all three when asking us to quote.

Keep the prototype and production briefs clear

Tell us whether your enquiry is for a concept, a prototype, an initial batch or an established product. Supply the latest drawing revision and distinguish confirmed requirements from points still being developed. Include material, finish and assembly details, along with features that need particular attention.

If you expect later production, provide an indicative quantity separately from the immediate order. This allows the discussion to consider how the product may be made beyond the first sample without treating a forecast as a committed order. Explain what you intend to review on the prototype before deciding on the next stage.

Think about the finished order, too

A batch may need to arrive as loose parts, grouped components or assembled products. Our manufacturing, packing and fulfilment service can be discussed around those requirements. Provide the delivery postcode, packing preferences, access restrictions and unloading arrangements alongside the manufacturing brief.

We use our own vehicles and work with local couriers for UK deliveries. Where repeat handling needs a dedicated frame, our stillage design and manufacture service may be relevant. Share the product size, weight and intended handling method before specifying the frame.

Buyer questions

Can we begin with one prototype?

Yes. One-off work is available. Explain what you need the prototype to demonstrate when you contact T-Rax.

Must we commit to a production batch when discussing a prototype?

Describe the immediate requirement and any anticipated future quantities separately. We can review the proposed scope before an order is agreed.
